History has been unfolding before our eyes in Aleppo (Syria) as a massacre takes place upon the Muslims. Who is to blame for this devastating situation the Muslims of Aleppo find themselves in? The mainstream media appear to be pinning all blame on the Assad government and Russia for their active role in indiscriminately bombing, killing, raping and torturing innocent civilians. No doubt they are responsible for these heinous crimes but are they the only ones to blame? are the hands of every other party clean and free of Muslim blood?
America
Everyone is aware that ever since the dissolution of the Soviet Union following the Cold War, America is the sole Superpower in the world today. What that means is that they decide the international agenda and have the power to influence and ultimately decide upon the destiny of any nation on the globe. The view that there is a some sort of ideological battle taking place between the US and Russia today is absurd. President Putin himself said,
“America is a great power – today probably the only superpower. We accept that. We want to and are ready to work with the United States.”
(Putin, St Petersburg International Economic Forum, 2016)
Knowing this, it would be politically naïve to believe that Russia are the only foreign nation to blame for Syria with the US free of blame. Rather, the US are attempting to shift the anti-American sentiment they gained following their brutal invasion of Iraq in 2003, towards Russia who have been committing similar atrocities in Syria. Although there has been apparent tensions between the US and Russia in the last few years, with the election of Trump it appears the US will now more openly support Russia in their onslaught of Muslims in Syria. Trump recently hired Rex Tillerson, CEO of ExxonMobil as Secretary of State. Tillerson was awarded ‘Russia’s Order of Friendship’ by Putin following deals signed with the state-owned Russian oil company Rosneft, whose chief, Igor Sechin, is seen as Putin’s loyal lieutenant.
Not only are the US quietly satisfied with the Russian onslaught of Muslims in Syria, but it is all part of their plan unveiled in 2004 during the Bush administration titled the ‘The Greater Middle East Initiative (GMEI)’ — a strategy aimed at exporting the American democratic model to the Arab-Islamic world and redefining borders and nations in tune with America’s geopolitical ambitions. Nasser Sahah, a political analyst based in Yemen stated, “President Bush quite simply revisited imperialism. He put on paper US intentions to rule over the Arab world, hiding the neo-colonial campaign under the banner of democracy and freedom”.
UN
Ban Ki Moon (UN Secretary General) recently made an emotional speech to the Security Council in which he said,
“We have collectively failed the people of Syria. The Security Council has not exercised its preeminent responsibility with regard to the maintenance of international peace and security. History will not easily absolve us”.
And he is right, history will not absolve them. Not in this or in any of their other crimes committed against the Muslims. However, we should not expect any support or assistance from an organisation built to consolidate Western dominance. The United Nations was established by the US following the Second World War to act as an international institution which promotes Western values, disguised as ‘universal values’, across the world. The term ‘Human Rights’ was coined to deceive the world into believing the organisation had moral and humanitarian interests but in fact they only seek to further the agenda of the Capitalist West who have no concern for humanity.
Leaders of the Muslim World
Bashar Al Assad is the current leader of Syria and we can all see that he is actively poisoning and murdering his own subjects. However it was the West themselves who placed his father, Hafez Al-Assad, as the head of state. Power was then transferred to Bashar Al Assad in typical dictatorial fashion. Additionally, the West have no qualms with Assad’s brutality in Syria as it adds fuel to the fire of Sunni-Shia sectarianism amongst Muslims. Assad is from the Alawi-sect but has been largely supported by Iran and Hezbollah.
The other ‘leaders’ of the Muslim world are similar to Assad in the sense that they are not representatives of the Ummah, but rather representatives of the West (specifically America). Even leaders such as Erdogan who has duped many of his people into believing he represents their wishes (i.e. Islam) has proven to the Ummah that his loyalty lies with the West and her allies including Russia and Israel. Not only did he reconcile relations with Russia as they were brutally murdering Muslims in Syria, but he also supported the Zionist criminals Israel to extinguish the Haifa fires whilst he has done absolutely nothing for the Muslims in Aleppo. Likewise, Al-Saud claim to be representatives of Islam yet they have only offered du’a for Aleppo through their government scholars whilst they use state of the art military to murder the Muslims of Yemen.
The Ummah
Some have blamed the noble Ummah for what is occurring in Syria and the wider Muslim world today. The claim is that it is due to the disobedience of the Muslims that Allah has sent down his punishment upon the Muslims. However, if this was really the case then one would wonder why the best of generations, the companions of the Prophet (SAW), went through severe persecution and humiliation. Was it due to their disobedience of Allah or because the enemies of Allah recognised the threat of Islam and sought to hinder the call of Islam?
The reality is that the Ummah is a victim to the onslaught of the Kuffar as they progress towards completing the revival. Despite being the victim the Ummah has the power to change the situation and this is not only through prayer and du’a. No doubt every Muslim should glorify their lord and pray all their Salawaat, however this should not be misconstrued to believing that Salah and Du’a alone will solve the situation in Syria (and all the other oppressed Muslim nations). The problem in all these countries are political and requires a political solution which is derived from the Prophetic method in bringing about change.
Allah says: “Verily, Allah will not change the condition of a people unless there is a change of what is in themselves”
Allah mentions the word ‘qawm’ (community). The word “qawm” negates or precludes individuality. Thus, the verse is addressing a people collectively as a set not as individuals. The verse cannot be read as: ‘…and Allah will only change a qawm if and only if every member of that qawm changes him/herself first’. Individualism is a concept promoted by the West and the Muslim must not be smitten by such a concept. Islam came for the collective society but today we lack the organisation due to the absence of an Imam (leader). We therefore find that the enemies of Allah are easily able to persecute us and kill us facing no retaliation as we have no mechanism to truly protect ourselves.
The Messenger (SAW) said: “Only the Imam is a shield, behind whom you fight and you protect yourself with” (Muslim / Ahmed).
Imam Nawawi explained the shield as being a cover for those behind him, since the Imam (leader) is the cover which prevents the enemy from harming the Muslims. This is by leading the army, protecting the borders and organizing the Jihad. Although the military might possessed by the Muslims today could easily remove the oppressors from our lands, the reality is that those who command the armies are slaves of America and therefore only order the armies to carry out actions which please her. The absence of the sincere Islamic leadership today is the sole reason for our problems faced in Aleppo and the wider Muslim world.
